7 thoughts on “My UNESCO World Heritage Sites

  1. I love this concept! In a way, UNESCO has worked out the bucket list for those who want to see the very best this planet has to offer! I’ve visited a few of the places myself. Hoping to see more in the future!

    1. I agree, whenever I plan a visit to a country or city I check to see if UNESCO has added any sites. I always try to see their sites when I can!

      1. I’ll be doing that as well from now on. I don’t even know which Unesco sites there are in my own country and I’m sure there are a bunch of them (I live in Israel).

    1. I don’t think I will visit every country or every UNESCO site in the world, but it keeps a girl busy 😉

Orkney is actually one of my major oversights during my time in Scotland. I’m looking forward to returning one day to do the islands justice!

  2. Great to see a fellow traveller (from Rotterdam)!

67 So far, I read, nice going!

There’s still a lot of low hanging fruit out there for you. Belgium, France Germany; most of their sites are easy to travel to in a daytrip and are really rewarding as well. I can fully recommend Brugge in Belgium; Bordeaux, Lyon, St Emilion in France and in Germany Lubeck, Middle Rhine and Goslar. Especially the last one, Goslar, was an exceptional experience that will always be remembered. (although that had more to do with the slippery road we had to manage….)

    1. I can’t wait to explore more UNESCO sites in the countries surrounding the Netherlands. I have so many more to go! Thanks for your tips!
