Bylakuppe – A Photo Diary of a Tibetan Settlement in India

I could write a whole lyrical poem about the beauty of Bylakuppe, but I won’t. I’ll share the photos with you, because I think you won’t need anything more to be convinced of this settlement’s beauty.

Bylakuppe

First things first, what’s Bylakuppe? Good question! This is the second largest Tibetan settlement outside Tibet. It’s near Mysore in India, so it’s easy to reach on a day trip. Entry is free, and it’s fun to roam around the different Buddhist monasteries, schools and other facilities for the large part of a day.

Two tips:
1. Search for the prayer wheels on the outside of the perimeter. There were no tourists there so it was incredibly serene.
2. Try the Tibetan momos in the restaurant at the square. You won’t regret it, they’re delicious!

A Photo Diary

I’ve written enough about the subject. Time to share my photos with you.
